Resources for All Applicators
Most commercial applicators and many private pesticide applicators are expected to meet the competency levels set by the Commonwealth of Virginia as certified pesticide applicators. Applicators and handlers (mostly farmers) not seeking to be certified pesticide applicators in Virginia, will still need to obtain a competency level in handling pesticides. These individuals are encouraged to take advantage of the training available through Virginia Cooperative Extension in pesticide safety education even if they do not choose to be certified. Also, the resources offered here include a variety of common best management practices that all pesticide applicators should follow. For additional information applicable to certified applicators, go to our page entitled "Applicator Help."
