Online training for any interested Virginia pesticide applicator seeking instruction in the core pesticide safety curriculum. There is no cost to enroll for applicators working in Virginia. Users must register in the course by supplying an e-mail address and contact information. Once registered a Virginia Tech userid will be issued for use of the course. The course use is limited to 90 days in length. After that time users will be required to re-register if they need to continue to use the course. All users must also purchase a study guide (Applying Pesticides Correctly - Virginia Core Manual, 456-210) - see information on purchasing manuals at the right of this page. If you are enrolled as a student in a high school vocational agriculture class or a higher education course in Virginia, you will be enrolled in a special section of this course for education use. This is also true for instructors managing courses associated with pesticide safety or agriculture. For vocational agriculture teachers, we are seeking to share visuals and other resources for teaching pesticide safety through your use of the course. The course has a built-in resource library for those with special access. We do encourage you to enroll in our annual Vo-Ag Pesticide Safety Educators Institute - held in July at Virginia Tech. For more information on registering for the online course or other information described here, please contact Rachel Parson (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Virginia Cooperative Extension has announced the availability of a free online training and testing program (Fertilizer Applicator Certification Training, FACT).
