Vo-Ag Teachers Pesticide Safety Education Institute

A short course for Virginia vocational agriculture teachers with instruction associated with pesticide safety, environmental protection, occupational safety, and legal compliance. Credits will be available for Virginia state pesticide applicator certification license recertification (Cat 3A, 10, 90, 91) and for teacher license renewal.

Hazard Communication Standard: Workers Must Train by 12/01/13

OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard is now aligned with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. This update to the Hazard Communication Standard provides a common and coherent approach to classifying chemicals and communicating hazard information on labels and safety data sheets. The first deadline in the implementation phase is December 1, 2013. This is the date by which employers must train workers on the new label elements and safety data sheet.
